MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich is set to kick off her campaign at the 2026 Athens Open, which features a prize pool of $283,000, BelTA has learned.
In the opening round, the Belarusian world No. 143 will face Russia’s Anna Blinkova (No. 102). This will be their sixth meeting at the WTA level, with Aliaksandra Sasnovich having swept all five previous encounters. The winner of today’s clash will move on to the round of 16 to play either Czech Tereza Valentova (No. 40) or Sofia Costoulas of Belgium (No. 157).
Two Belarusian tennis players will compete at the 2026 ENKA Ladies Open in Istanbul, Türkiye, which offers a $115,000 prize pool. In the round of 32, world No. 314 Darya Khamutsianskaya will face Indonesia’s Priska Nugroho (No. 379), while Aliona Falei (No. 230) is set to play China’s Yue Yuan (No. 120). Khamutsianskaya advanced to the main draw through the qualifying rounds, defeating Saumya Vig of India 6-0, 6-0, and Chinese player Ying Zhang in a three-set battle, 1-6, 6-4, 7-5. In the doubles opening round, Aliona Falei and Russia’s Polina Iatcenko edged past the American-Czech duo of Carol Young Suh Lee and Vendula Valdmannova in a tight three-set clash, 6-4, 2-6, 11-9. Meanwhile, Darya Khamutsianskaya and Russian Daria Zelinskaya fell to the Chinese tandem of Ying Zhang and Yujia Huang in straight sets, 2-6, 2-6.
The tournaments in Greece and Türkiye will wrap up on 19 July.
