MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich has made a successful start at the Singapore Tennis Open 2026 with a prize pool of $1.2 million, BelTA has learned.
In her first-round match, Belarus’ world number 132 defeated World No.84 Daria Kasatkina of Australia, 7-5, 6-0. Aliaksandra Sasnovich did not commit a single double fault on serve and recorded four aces. The match lasted 1 hour 20 minutes. In the second round, the Belarusian will face Russia’s World No. 5 Mirra Andreeva. The two have met only once before, at a tournament in Romania in 2024, where Mirra Andreeva won 6-1, 6-3 in the round of 16. The event in Singapore will end on 27 September. The champion will earn $185,500 and 500 ranking points.
Two Belarusian tennis players have reached the final round of qualifying at the ATP Challenger San Diego 2, the USA, with a prize pool of $107,000. In the first qualifying round, Daniil Ostapenkov defeated Quinn Vandecasteele of the USA, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, and in the decisive match for a place in the main draw his opponent will be Timo Legout of France. Erik Arutiunian defeated Switzerland’s Luca Staeheli, 6-4, 6-4, and will face Andrew Fenty of the USA.
