Sabalenka’s dominance continues with 63rd straight week as WTA No.1

MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has topped the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings for the 63rd week in a row. In total, she has now spent 71 weeks as world No.1, BelTA has learned.

The final world ranking list of 2025, released on 29 December, shows the world’s number one with 10,870 points. Over the past season, the 27-year-old from Belarus made it to nine tournament finals, securing the title in four. Her accomplishments include a Grand Slam title at the US Open, as well as victories at the tournaments in Brisbane, Miami, and Madrid. In 2025, Aryna Sabalenka won 63 out of 75 matches played and set a new record for prize money earned in a single season by banking $15,008,519. Sabalenka is set to open her new season with a title defense at the 2026 Brisbane International in Australia, with the tournament scheduled for 4-11 January 2026.

Among other Belarusians, Aliaksandra Sasnovich ends the season ranked 114th (685 points), while former world No.1 Victoria Azarenka is 132nd (555), and Iryna Shymanovich sits in 155th place (464).

Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz heads the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings with 12,050 points, ahead of Italy’s Jannik Sinner (11,500) in second. Germany’s Alexander Zverev is third (5,110), and the legendary Novak Djokovic of Serbia completes the top quartet (4,820). In the world rankings, Erik Arutiunian is the top Belarusian player, placed 435th with 108 points.
