Sabalenka up to 4th in WTA

MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has moved up to the 4th place in the recent WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Last week Aryna Sabalenka reached the San Diego Open quarterfinal to move up from the 5th to the 4th spot with 3,515 points. Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich is 32nd with 1,456 points, Victoria Azarenka - 37th with 1,247 points. Azarenka and Sasnovich are set to play at Guadalajara 1, Mexico this week.

In the ATP rankings the best-placed Belarusian is Ilya Ivashka (70th with 730 points). Egor Gerasimov is 224th (235). On 17 October Ilya Ivashka will kick off his Stockholm Open campaign against world number 33 Maxime Cressy of the United States.
