Sabalenka reaches Wuhan semifinal

 MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) — Belarus’ world number one Aryna Sabalenka has advanced to the 2025 Wuhan Open semifinal, BelTA has learned.

In the quarterfinal, the world's top-ranked player defeated Kazakhstan's world number 9 Elena Rybakina, 6-3, 6-3. In the semifinal, the Belarusian will face World No.6 Jessica Pegula of the USA.

Earlier, Aryna Sabalenka defeated Slovakia’s world number 68 Rebecca Šramková, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1, and Russia's world number 20 Liudmila Samsonova 6-3, 6-2.

Aryna Sabalenka is a three-time champion of the Wuhan tournament, winning the title in 2018, 2019, and 2024.
