MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has advanced to the fourth round of the French Open, BelTA has learned.
In the Round of 32, the world number one defeated Australia’s Daria Kasatkina (world No. 53) 6-0, 7-5 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes. In the opening rounds, the Belarusian beat Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (No. 50) 6-4, 6-2, and dismissed France’s Elsa Jacquemot (No. 67) 7-5, 6-2. Next up, she will face Japan’s Naomi Osaka (No. 16) for a spot in the quarterfinals. Competing on the clay courts of the French capital for the tenth time, Sabalenka aims to go one step further than in 2025, when she finished as the Roland Garros runner-up to Coco Gauff of the USA.
The women’s French Open final will take place on 6 June, while the men will crown their champion on 7 June. The prize money for this second Grand Slam of the 2026 season stands at a record-breaking €61.7 million, with the men’s and women’s singles champions each taking home €2.8 million.
