MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – The Evenings of the Bolshoi Theater at the Radziwill Castle festival will take place in Nesvizh, BelTA learned from the Belarusian cultural institution.

“The Bolshoi Theater will invite its fans to attend the magical evenings in Nesvizh on 17, 18, and 19 June for the 12th time already. The Radziwill family residence has long been the second home for the Belarusian theater and its main summer festival venue,” the press service of the Bolshoi Theater said.

Ballet, opera, choir and orchestra artists will perform masterpieces of world opera and ballet classics in Nesvizh. Boris Asafiyev's ballet "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" based on a poem by Alexander Pushkin will open the festival at 21.00 on 17 June. “This is a so-called poetic story about love and jealousy, passion and cruelty,” the press service of the theater said.

On 18 June (20.00 local time) artists will stage Die Fledermaus operetta to the music of Johann Strauss in the courtyard of the Radziwill Castle. The audience will enjoy the rhythms of waltzes, polkas and czardas.

The festival will be wrapped up with a gala concert on 19 June (19.30 local lime).

A number of concert programs will be held in the theater hall of the castle in between. For example, the Musical Legends of the Old Castle tour will immerse the visitors in an atmosphere of mystery, wonder and magic from the very first tune, with portraits and sculptures, ancient legends and tales coming to life, the press service said. The “Songs of the Big Country” concert featuring the string quintet Serenade and soloists of the opera theater will celebrate the best Soviet hits.

Tickets for the festival in Nesvizh are on sale.
