Over 5,000 excursionists visit Belarusian nuclear power plant in 2023

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – More than 5,000 people went on a tour of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) in 2023, BelTA learned from the nuclear power plant.

“This is 40% more than in the previous year. Trips to the Belarusian nuclear power plant remain popular among locals and foreigners,” the BelNPP said.

During the year, 228 tourist groups visited the information center and the training center of the nuclear power plant. There were excursionists from all regions of Belarus, as well as from other countries, including Russia, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, and Hungary. The visitors were people from all walks of life, including labor veterans, pensioners, teachers and lecturers, school and university students, people with disabilities, members of patriotic public associations and clubs, energy industry workers, journalists, deputies, government officials and many others.

“Last year, as in previous years, all requests to visit the information center of the Belarusian nuclear power plant were approved. Those were applications not only from tourist groups, but also from individuals. In 2024, the information center is still open to the public and is ready to educate visitors about nuclear energy and the Belarusian nuclear power plant. All tours are absolutely free of charge. To book a tour, it is necessary to send an application to ic@belaes.by,” the BelNPP informed.
