MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – More than 20,000 people have joined the Bringing Forests Back to Life campaign over the past week, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry.

The voluntary public campaign Bringing Forests Back to Life is gaining momentum in Belarus. As of 20 October, over 20,500 volunteers have participated in it. These include forestry workers and volunteers: schoolchildren, university students, parliamentarians, government officials, members of public organizations, staff from both public and private sector companies, and concerned citizens.

Through their joint efforts, more than 7.5 million trees have already been planted. Reforestation has been carried out on over 1,100 sites. Besides planting and replenishing woodlands, volunteers also clean up forests, create alleys, and restore recreational sites.

Running from 11 October to 31 October, the Bringing Forests Back to Life campaign is dedicated to the Year of Improvement. Those wishing to join should contact any local forestry enterprise.
