MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – The Minsk City Clinical Gynecology Center has become the first healthcare institution in Belarus to receive a certificate of compliance with the ISO 7101:2023 international quality management systems standard for healthcare organizations, BelTA learned from the Healthcare Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

During a meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Healthcare Committee board, the certificate was presented to the center’s chief physician Aleksandr Bich, by lead auditor of the CERT International certification body Natalya Kashtalyan.

The new international standard establishes requirements for quality management systems in healthcare organizations and specifies them based on the particularities of medical activities. It requires managing a medical organization based on the principles of a culture of quality, starting from top management; the safety and well-being of patients and staff; person-centered care, respect, compassion, patient engagement, equity, and dignity; risk identification and mitigation; service control through documented processes; monitoring and evaluation of clinical and non-clinical indicators; as well as the continuous improvement of processes and outcomes.

The new standard focuses on caring not only for patients but also for the staff. It features a dedicated Staff Well-being section, which involves ensuring the physical and psychological safety of employees, as well as creating a positive work environment within the organization.

The implementation of ISO 7101:2023 is stipulated by Clause No. 27 “Ensuring accessibility and high standards of quality medical care regardless of the place of residence,” of the action program of the Belarusian government for 2025–2029, which was approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 254 dated 8 May 2025.
