MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Ilya Ivashka has advanced to the main draw of the ATP Challenger 75 tournament in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland, with a prize fund of €97,600, BelTA has learned.
In the final qualifying match, the Belarusian defeated Oscar Weightman of Great Britain in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, in an hour and a half. In the opening qualifying round, Ilya Ivashka also recorded a straight-sets victory over Melvin Kumar of Sweden, 6-2, 6-1.
At the ATP Challenger 50 tournament in Istanbul, Türkiye, with a prize fund of $63,000, Belarusian Daniil Ostapenkov opened qualifying by defeating Yurii Dzhavakian of Ukraine 7-6 (7-3), 6-1, before falling to Koki Matsuda of Japan 6-7 (6-8), 3-6 in the qualifying final.
