MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) - The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has reinstated the rights of athletes from Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Table Tennis Federation.
At an ITTF meeting, the organization's Executive Board approved the unrestricted participation of athletes with Belarusian passports in competitions under its auspices. Belarusian table tennis players will once again be able to compete for the national team with the flag and anthem, and the decision will take effect on 28 July 2026.
The day before, the 2026 European Under-21 Table Tennis Championships kicked off in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where Belarus is represented by Nikon Shutov. In the first round, the Belarusian won two out of three matches in his quartet and advanced to the second group stage, where he will face athletes from Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland.
