Iryna Zhuk renews Belarus’ record in pole vault indoor in Lievin

MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Iryna Zhuk has set a new national record in the women’s pole vault indoor in Lievin, France, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee.

The Belarusian took silver with 4.80m. Iryna Zhuk renewed the national record she set in France two weeks ago (4.77 meters).

Anzhelika Sidorova of Russia won the event with 4.85m. Tokyo Olympic champion Katie Nageotte of the United States placed third.

The World Athletics Indoor Championships are due to take place in Begrade on 18-20 March.
