CIS Games in Minsk to feature seven sports

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) - Minsk will host competitions in seven sports at the 2nd  CIS Games, Maksim Voropai, Head of the Main Department of Sports and Tourism of the Minsk City Hall, told BelTA.

The department together with other agencies responsible for organizing the Games in Minsk examined the sports facilities and infrastructure facilities of the city that will be used in the Games. The organizers paid attention to the hotels that will accommodate athletes, studied the menu, examined logistics and made optimal routes for the movement of the participants of the Games from hotels to sports facilities and back.

According to Maksim Voropai, the sports facilities to be used during the Games are the Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Minsk Arena, Sports Palace, Palova Arena, Chizhovka Arena, Uruchye sports center, National Center for Olympic Training in Shooting Sports.

The list of sports facilities is still open and can be supplemented after the final decision is made on the number of athletes arriving in Minsk. For example, Minsk has designated three volleyball sites for the Games: Sports Palace, Chizhovka Arena and Uruchye sports center.

A reminder, Minsk holds the status of the CIS Capital of Sports this year. The city has a lot of sports facilities. A large number of athletes and fans are expected to arrive in Minsk for the 2nd CIS Games. Maksim Voropai assured that Minsk is fully preprepared to deliver a high-quality event.
