Chinese influencer: My followers are eager to learn more about Belarus

ZHITKOVICHI DISTRICT, 8 September (BelTA) – Followers in China would like to learn more about Belarus, Maomao, a Chinese vlogger with millions of followers, who is currently participating in a familiarization tour of Belarus, told BelTA.
On 8 September, the bloggers visited the Pripyatsky National Park, one of the highlights of their tour, for a hike along a 5-kilometer eco-trail. Walking through raised bogs and picturesque forests, they got to experience the unique Polesie landscapes and learn about the area’s rich wildlife.
“This is my first time visiting a bog, and it’s honestly so interesting and exciting! It felt so unusual when my feet would sink into the soft ground, especially when they suddenly fell through,” she said, describing her first reactions.
The vlogger admitted that she had prepared for the trip to Belarus. “Before the trip, I studied quite a lot of information about your country online. I would like to get a closer look at both traditional culture and history. I am looking forward to visiting iconic sites to make as many interesting and engaging videos about your country as possible,” Maomao said.
Her blog mostly focuses on culture, world history, and traditional crafts. “Right before traveling to Belarus, I ran a poll for my followers to find out what they wanted to see here. The response was huge! Everyone said they can’t wait for whatever content I drop, because they really want to learn more about this country, which is still a hidden gem for Chinese travelers,” the content creator said.
“I’m planning to put together a few posts tonight about the open-air museum in Lyaskovichi. I was absolutely amazed by your straw and wicker weaving,” Maomao added.
The familiarization tour for vloggers kicked off on 7 September. It was organized by the National Tourism Agency with the support of the Embassy of Belarus in China and Belarusbank.
The National Tourism Agency has prepared a packed week-long itinerary for the Chinese creators, which could serve as the foundation for a new tourism product in the future. The tour for Chinese influencers is the first major project by the National Tourism Agency aimed at promoting Belarus’ tourism potential abroad and attracting foreign travelers. Similar tours are planned for representatives of other friendly nations in the near future.
