China’s Zhang Zhong wins Belarusian president’s special prize at Listapad film festival
MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Zhang Zhong, director of the film Story of Cotton Field and last year’s Grand Prix of Listapad winner, has received the Belarusian President’s special award For Humanism and Spirituality in Cinema, BelTA has learned following the closing ceremony of the 31st Minsk International Film Festival Listapad.
Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalya Petkevich presented the award. In response, the Chinese filmmaker expressed his gratitude to the jury and the audience. “Cinema is a language without borders. We have always sought to communicate emotions through people’s personal stories. It serves as a bridge between civilizations. We are delighted that our film Story of the Cotton Field resonated with the Belarusian audience. Thank you very much,” he said.
