Bolshoi Theater shows Pathétique Memory Book in Brest

BREST, 2 May (BelTA) – The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus performed Pathétique Memory Book in the Brest Hero Fortress on 1 May, BelTA learned.

Pathétique Memory Book is a powerful orchestral and choral sound, vivid vocal performances and an amazing choreographic drama. It is based on documentary evidence of the tragedy and heroism of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War found in the archives of Belarusian museums. The production was created in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and premiered September 2024. The project was financed from the fund to support culture and art of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

The musical score of the production consists of works by Belarusian composers created over the past 100 years (from 1924 to 2024), including the most important works dedicated to the Great Patriotic War by classics of Belarusian music Evgeny Tikotsky, Nikolai Aladov, Nikolai Churkin, Anatoly Bogatyrev, Heinrich Wagner, Lev Abeliovich, Isaac Luban, Vladimir Olovnikov, Igor Luchenok, Evgeny Glebov, Dmitry Smolsky, Oleg Khodosko.
