MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) - United World Wrestling (UWW) has lifted all restrictions for athletes from Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.
Under the updated rules, wrestlers from Belarus and Russia will compete under their national flags at all age levels, including the senior level. National designations “BLR” and “RUS” are permitted on the uniforms of athletes and delegation members. In the event of a victory at UWW-sanctioned competitions, the national anthem of the respective country will be played.
Earlier, the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM), World Boxing, and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) also announced the full reinstatement of athletes from Belarus. The decisions were made in accordance with the IOC recommendations of 7 May 2026, to lift restrictions on Belarusian athletes.
