MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Ilya Taupianets won the 2026 Paddle Europe Sprint and Paracanoe Championships in Portugal, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian athlete secured a victory in the 200m VL1 event (for athletes with physical impairments). In the final Tovpenets clocked 1:00.646, finishing a second ahead of the silver medalist Artur Chuprov from Russia. Moritz Berthold from Germany took third place, finishing five seconds behind the winner. Another Belarusian Aliaksandr Padaliak rounded out the top five.
Two years ago Ilya was also crowned European champion in this event, and last year he claimed gold at the world championships. On 14 June Belarus’ Anastasia Miasnikova will compete in the continental forum’s 200m VL2 final.
