Belarusian strongman Sergei Zaslavsky sets new national record

MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) - Famous Belarusian strongman Sergei Zaslavsky has set another national record, BelTA has learned.

As he planned, the athlete finished the year 2022 in Minsk with a new achievement in the 85kg weight category, lifting 120 kg. The record was registered by judges of the international category, and now Sergei Zaslavsky has officially become the strongest athlete of Belarus in this weight class. In late September the Belarusian strongman beat the American Robert Nelson's achievement in the 70kg barbell bench press: he did 21 lifts in 60 seconds, which is one more than the American sportsman's record. In 2023 the Belarusian is determined to set new records.

Sergei Zaslavsky is the current world champion in strength sports, three-time master of sports of international class in standing barbell press and classic biceps lift. His records are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records and the Divo Book of Records for Russia, the CIS and the Baltics. He is the author of the sports and patriotic project “For a strong Belarus”, conducts master classes and seminars on power sports for employees, servicemen and cadets of the structural subdivisions of the Internal Affairs Ministry, the Armed Forces, students of secondary and higher educational institutions.
