MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – The Belarus Ski Union has won ruling against the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus told BelTA.

On 11 November 2025, the Belarus Ski Union filed an appeal against the decision of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation dated 21 October 2025, which barred Belarusian athletes from participating in FIS competitions and qualifying for the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

Following hearings on the appeal held on 26 November, the CAS issued its ruling in favor of the Belarus Ski Union on 2 December. “Both CAS Panels ruled that Belarusian athletes who meet the International Olympic Committee AIN eligibility criteria should be allowed to participate in FIS qualification events.”

Consequently, Belarusian skiers who meet the criteria of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as neutral athletes must be allowed by FIS to participate in the qualification events for the 2026 Olympics. The Winter Olympic Games will take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo on 6-22 February 2026.
