Belarusian NOC chief extends birthday greetings to Darya Domracheva

MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) - President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated celebrated biathlete Darya Domracheva on her birthday, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

Darya Domracheva is a four-time Olympic champion, two-time world champion, and winner of the Big Crystal Globe. In 2014, she was awarded the title of Hero of Belarus.

Viktor Lukashenko noted that over the course of her successful career, Darya Domracheva has traveled a remarkable path from a promising junior to an absolute legend of world sport. “Becoming the first and only biathlete in history with four Olympic gold medals is the result of unique talent, unyielding will, and a champion’s spirit. Your victories at the biggest international competitions gave us unforgettable emotions and united the entire nation of Belarus,” the congratulatory message read.

The NOC president emphasized that Darya’s experience is invaluable not only as part of history but also as a foundation for the sporting future of the country, because by meeting with young athletes and passing on her winner’s philosophy, she continues to uphold the traditions of Belarusian biathlon.
