MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarusian athlete Raman Hralko has claimed Belarus’ second medal at the 25th Summer Deaflympics in Japan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.
The Belarusian athlete won silver in the high jump with a result of 2.04m. He was bested by Russia’s Denis Fedorenkov, who took gold with a jump of 2.07m. This comes after Belarusian Hanna Suravets set a national record to win silver in the women’s event.
The Deaflympics are the largest international sports competition for athletes with hearing impairments. Belarus is represented by 24 athletes in three sports: athletics, swimming and wrestling. The games have brought together about 3,000 participants from more than 70 countries.
