MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - The international Commonwealth of Fashion forum recognized Melnitsa Mody (Fashion Mill) as the best social project in the light industry and creative fields of the CIS countries, BelTA learned from the National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth.
The final of the 35th edition of the National Festival-Contest of Fashion and Photography Melnitsa Mody [Mill of Fashion] took place in Minsk on 26-28 May. It drew together more than 2,000 participants: representatives of educational institutions, leading Belarusian brands, the light industry and fashion business and guests from the CIS countries. The festival featured a total of 63 unique collections by 85 young designers from across Belarus, along with 14 photo projects in honor of the Year of the Belarusian Woman.
Diana Survilaite, Head of the Organizational Department of the Secretariat of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Executive Secretary of the international Commonwealth of Fashion forum, presented the organizers with an honorary award on the occasion of the project's 35th anniversary. Melnitsa Mody [Fashion Mill] was named the best social project in the light industry and creative industries of the CIS countries.
“Melnitsa Mody has been actively cooperating with the international Commonwealth of Fashion forum since its first year. For many years, the project has represented Belarus in St. Petersburg,” Belarus’ Deputy Educaiton Minister Yekaterina Petrutskaya said during the ceremony.
The authors of three Belarusian collections received invitations to St. Petersburg for the Youth Day of the international Commonwealth of Fashion forum (5th edition) due in the autumn of 2026.
