MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) - Dzianis Yermolenka of Belarus won gold at the 2026 Paddle Europe Junior and U23 Sprint Championships which is currently underway in Hungary, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian became the best on the continent in the K1 Under 23 Men 1000m event. On 23 July, Dzianis Yermolenka won his heat, and on Saturday he claimed victory in the final with a time of 3:32.043. He beat Russia’s Dmitrii Avdeev, the silver medalist, by nearly a second. Last year, Dzianis Yermolenka finished second at the U23 World Championships and third at the U23 European Championships.
Also in the morning program on 25 July Belarusian athletes won two silver medals - Heorhi Varazhun (K1 Junior Men 1000m) and Maksim Murauski (C1 Under 23 Men 1000m). Gleb Kavalevich finished fourth in C1 Junior Men 1000m, missing out on bronze by just half a second.
