MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Belarus has won their silver medal of the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, BelTA has learned.
Today Belarus lost to the world champions Brazil 3-4 in the final in Seychelles. This is the first such success of Belarusian teams in game sports.
Belarus beat Senegal 5-2 in the semifinal and edged Iran 4-3 in the quarterfinal Belarus. In the first round Nicolas Alvarado’s men topped Group A defeating Seychelles 6-3, Japan 6-3 and Guatemala 12-3. Last year Belarus lost to Italy in the semifinal.
This is the fourth time the Belarus national team has advanced in the final stages of the world championships: in 2024 Belarus finished fourth, in 2019 and 2021 they failed to make it to the playoffs.

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the Belarusian national beach soccer team on winning the silver medal of the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup that ended in the Seychelles, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"Your silver medal is akin to gold! Congratulations!" the head of state said in his message.
Belarus has won the world cup silver medal for the first time. This is the first such success of Belarusian teams in game sports.
