MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – At 12.00 on 22 June Belarus will observe a national minute of silence to commemorate the victims of the Great Patriotic War. All-Belarusian Prayer for Peace will end with a special bell ringing at noon, BelTA learned.

On 22 June, the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People, all churches of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and churches of the Roman Catholic Church will hold morning services that will end with a bell ringing at noon to commemorate the victims of the war.

The All-Belarusian Prayer for Peace will not only be a tribute to the heroes and innocent victims of the war, Belarusian Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities Aleksandr Rumak told BelTA earlier. The prayer is meant to remind the living generations of the value of peace.

The Belarusian people remember their heroes, those who fell during the war. All people, regardless of religious affiliation, pray for peace in their native land, Aleksandr Rumak noted.
