Belarus’ Fokin claims muaythai world champion title, Borborovich takes silver

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won six (1, 2, 3) medals at the 2025 IFMA World Championships in Kemer, Türkiye, BelTA has learned.

On the final competition day, 31 May, Georgy Fokin of Belarus claimed U23 gold in the 67kg event. On his way to the champion title the Belarusian defeated the athletes from Russia, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Morocco and the UAE.

Belarus’ Miron Borborovich reached the 57kg final. He proved stronger against the athletes from Azerbaijan, Poland and Morocco, but lost to Ukraine’s fighter.

Earlier, Dmitry Shelmanov collected U23 silver in the 91kg event. Bronze medals went to Daniil Dedovets (67kg), Ivan Shangin (60kg, U23), and Ruslan Kyamalov (81kg, U23).
