New Year in the Soviet Style exhibition

Visitors to the Minsk History Museum will be able to travel back into the Soviet period and find out how Minsk celebrated New Year in the second half of the 20th century. The museum recreated a Minsk apartment of the 1950s, a homely atmosphere and urban spaces using installations-photozones featuring household items, paintings and graphic works, collections of postcards, and Christmas tree decorations from the 1940s–1980s. City landscapes, landmarks, cozy courtyards are presented on the canvases of Vasily Sumarev, Viktor Evseev, and Boris Arakcheev; the exposition is complemented by watercolors, lithographs and linocuts by Grigory Vitkovsky, Anatoly Tychina, Semyon Gerus, and Ivan Protasenya.

New Year Toys, Candles and Crackers exhibition in Gomel

The Palace of the Rumyantsevs and the Paskeviches will immerse visitors into a holiday mood using New Year toys, candles and crackers. This is a miniature winter world populated by porcelain kids skiing and skating on fluffy snowy hills, funny little men, elegant young ladies, forest animals and amazing inhabitants of the deep sea, surrounded by a garden of sparkling vegetables, fruits, flowers and, of course, balloons of different shapes and sizes. The exhibits are New Year toys of the 1930s-1980s from the collections of the palace museum, made from glass, cardboard, wood, plastic, cotton wool, foil...

Retro Phototechnics in the Mikhail Savitsky Art Gallery

Over its 200-year history the camera has gone from a bulky pinhole camera to a camera built into a smartphone. Visitors to the exhibition can trace the milestones in the history of photography, immerse themselves in the photography process and understand the principles of operation of cameras of different designs. The exposition presents various models of photographic equipment, the earliest of which date back to the early 20th century (Le Glyphoscope stereo camera, 1905). Among the rare exhibits are design models of Zenit cameras from the 1980s, stereo cameras for three-dimensional images, microcameras...

NeuroBelarus project in Minsk

One of the most innovative art exhibitions, NeuroBelarus, demonstrates Belarus through the eyes of artificial intelligence. The exposition includes more than 90 pieces created by neural networks and showing Belarusian history, mythology, architecture, nature, cuisine... The culmination of the project is the immersive film "Digital Evolution", which represents a rethinking of the world of ideas and the world of matter, a free artistic reflection on development and evolution. You can tour the exhibition in an exciting way by taking a thematic quest and by listening to a podcast on your smartphone.

Festival of Orthodox Church Music Kolozha Blagovest 2024

Kolozha Blagovest, revived in 2002 in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Grodno Eparchy, is held between the feast of the Meeting of the Lord and the beginning of Great Lent. Over the course of a month, the community centers become centers of choral music and Orthodox art in general. The festival features more than 90 parish groups, including large choirs of city churches, chamber groups of village churches, and secular groups. The performances are accompanied by theatrical performances by Sunday school pupils, literary presentations, photo exhibitions and exhibitions of embroidered icons. The festival will end on 18 February with a gala concert and a ceremony to honor the winners of the Orthodox church music festival in the Holy Protection Cathedral in Grodno.

Invisible Heroes photo exhibition in the National Library of Belarus

Invisible Heroes is a project dedicated to young patients of the Belarusian Children's Hospice, created thanks to the cooperation between volunteer and photographer Ksenia Legovich and hospice employee Ulyana Kazakevich. The photos feature the patients in the images of Belarusian mythical characters, characters of Belarusian fairy tales. They show the audience that life is a miracle, and each of its participants is a strong kind magician. The exhibition features 45 portraits – symbolic windows into the world of dreams and hope, strong support, and the wisdom of traditional culture.

GastroFest.Coffee 2024 in Belarus

GastroFest is back with a new project. For 18 days, coffee shops in five cities - Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno and Minsk - will delight customers with new flavor combinations and the art of making coffee. Each participant will be able to get familiar with the offers of the establishments in advance and choose a tasting set, consisting of a cup of coffee and dessert, at a fixed price. A popular vote on the project's websites will choose the best coffee shop and the best set.

New program in the Belarusian State Circus

The Belarusian State Circus presents an enchanting water show Magic of Fountains which will embody the most daring projects - colorful fountains with a laser installation, giant jets of dancing water, rain and waterfalls under the dome of the circus! The program will feature tightrope walkers, aerialists on belts, a gymnast with hula hoops on a mirror ball, a juggler, and a clown. Fur seals, parrots, trained bears, monkeys will be features as well...

Night of the Wolves eco-festival in the Pripyatsky park

The Pripyatsky National Park invites you to relax in a wild corner away from the city, learn the secrets of predators and feel the recent presence of a wolf (and, possibly, hear its howl!). Guests of the two-day festival will learn unusual facts about forest inhabitants and ask exciting questions during the lecture titled as "If you're afraid of wolves, don't go into the woods”, go in search of a wolf's lair as part of a thematic quest and take an evening tour along the "Wolf Paths" to the habitat of the pack, studying the tracks and habits of animals. During a workshop participants will make souvenirs in the form of wolf cubs to remember their unusual adventure.

ABSOLUTE HITS from IP ORCHESTRA

The symphony IP ORCHESTRA under the baton of renowned Russian musician and conductor Igor Ponomarenko has been successfully touring five continents. The musicians also succeed in musical experiments, performing the music by Vivaldi and Strauss, Piazzolla's tangos, rock classics, as well as music from local and foreign films. The upcoming eventwill feature compositions of different epochs and orchestral arrangements of songs by Edith Piaf, Mireille Mathieu, Elvis Presley, Madonna, Joe Dassin, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Adele, Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Sting, as well as the bands Nirvana, AC/DC, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin.

BISON RACE 2024 in Silichi

BISON RACE is an obstacle race where athletes overcome artificial and natural, water and fire barrierson their way thanks to their fitness and physical endurance! The extreme sporting event features four distances - 1.5 km (9-12 years old), 3 km (13-17 years old), 5 km (Open) and 10 km (18 to 50+).

Vakhtangov Theater in Minsk: Eugene Onegin

Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theater is bringing the famous play Eugene Onegin by Rimas Tuminas to the Belarusian capital. Last year the production marked its 10th anniversary.The production director said he “tried to break stereotypes, strived for polyphony, musicality, emotion, trying to avoid hyperbole and false lyricism”... This novel in verse, created in the era of romanticism, is considered an encyclopedia of its time, where “the modern world appeared with all its coldness, prose and vulgarity”. The main characters of Pushkin's masterpiece are played by outstanding theater actors - Sergei Makovetsky, Lyudmila Maksakova, Viktor Dobronravov, Irina Kupchenko, Ekaterina Kramzina, and Oleg Makarov.

Moscow Art Theater in Minsk: Anna Karenina

The play based on Leo Tolstoy's novel Anna Karenina will be brought to Minsk by the Moscow Art Theater. Yanina Melekhova, a native of the Belarusian village of Obukhovo, a member of the Russian Guild of Cinema Actors, plays the main role. The production of the director Ruslan Bankovsky, who studied at the Belarusian Theater Institute, premiered in the spring of 2017. The play is an embodiment of the traditions of classical Russian theater. The main roles are played by popular actors of theater and cinema - People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Steklov, Mikhail Pavlik, Honored Artist of Russia Olga Anokhina.

Orchestra Show: popular classics and film music hits

The concert celebrating the birthday of the conductor Alexander Vysotsky promises a stunning show fromwell-known orchestras.The Belarusian National Academic Folk Orchestra named after I.I. Zhinovich will perform together with the Belteleradiocompany Symphony Orchestra on the stage of the Great Hall of the Philharmonic Society in Minsk.The concert will feature famous classics by Tchaikovsky, Lecuona, Brahms, Khachaturian, as well as music hits from world cinema, such as Lullaby for an Angel from Schindler's List, soundtracks from the films Harry Potter, The Mission, New York, New York, Mission Impossible, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Bidding Farewell to Snow Maiden. Pancake Day in Belovezhskaya Pushcha

The residence of the Belarusian Grandfather Frost in Belovezhskaya Pushcha celebrated its 20th anniversary in December 2022.The anniversary winter season will be wrapped up with a solemn farewell ceremony to the granddaughter of the forest wizard - Snegurochka, who will leave for the North Pole on a winter sled. Visitors to the fairytale residence will enjoy a musical and entertainment program and folk games Molodetskie Zabavy, get a chance to buy souvenirs at artisans’fairs, make gifts for their loved ones at the City of Craftsmen workshops, and try pancakes with different fillings and herbal tea.
