Belarus’ Daniil Patachyts clinches U20 European sambo champion title

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Daniil Patachyts of Belarus clinched gold in the U20 -98kg event at the ongoing 2025 European Sambo Championships in Limassol, Cyprus, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian defeated Egor Neciporuc of Moldova 9-0 in the quarterfinal and beat Erik Saghatelyan of Armenia 9-0 in the semifinal. In the final Daniil Patachyts proved stronger over Russia’s Valerii Gerasimenko, 2-1. Five out of 13 Belarusian athletes reached the finals. Four of them lost to representatives of Russia. Silver medals were secured by Hanna Artsiomava (-50kg), Palina Lukyanchuk (+80kg), Ivan Siamionau (-79kg), and Arseni Malitski (+98kg).
