Belarus claims award at SCO Film Festival

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian film One for Two has claimed an award at the SCO Film Festival, which took place in Kyrgyzstan on 16-19 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusfilm national film studio.

The competition featured eight entries from Belarus, Russia, China, Iran, and Central Asian countries.

Olga Reshetnikova captured the Best Editing award for Ivan Pavlov’s film One for Two. The movie honors hero pilots Andrei Nichiporchik and Nikita Kukonenko, who sacrificed their lives to guide a crashing Yakovlev Yak-130 jet trainer away from residential neighborhoods in Baranovichi in May 2021.

The Belarusian delegation at the festival included Belarusfilm Deputy Director General Aleksandr Gostev and Honored Artist of Belarus Svetlana Sukhovei, who was a member of the jury. The event also featured a roundtable on cinematic cooperation, where participants mapped out new projects and joint ventures.
