Belarus’ Barsukova takes silver in long jump at 2025 Deaflympics

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - Belarusian athlete Dziyana Barsukova has won her second individual medal at the Tokyo 2025 25th Summer Deaflympics underway in Japan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Sport and Tourism Ministry.

The Belarusian athlete secured second place in the long jump with a result of 5.79 meters. The victory in this event was claimed by a representative from Cuba (6.11 m). Earlier in Tokyo, Dziyana Barsukova won bronze in the triple jump. To date, the Belarusian team's medal count stands at 10 (two gold, four silver, four bronze) medals.

The Deaflympics are the largest international sports competition for athletes with hearing impairments. Belarus is represented by 24 athletes in three sports: athletics, swimming and wrestling. The games have brought together about 3,000 participants from more than 70 countries.
