Belarus’ Anna Kubareva advances to W15 Astana 2025 semifinal

ASTANA, 14 August (BelTA) - Anna Kubareva of Belarus has secured a spot in the W15 Astana 2025 semifinal, BelTA has learned.

In today’s quarterfinal match, Anna Kubareva claimed the first set 6-3 against Russia’s Valeria Savinykh. The Belarusian was leading 4-3 in the second set when her opponent retired. In the first round the Belarusian dominated Uzbekistan’s Diana Yakovleva with a 6-2, 6-0 win. She also took a solid 6-0, 6-2 win over Russia’s Ustinya Lekmintseva in the round of 16. Tomorrow, she will face another Russian player, Kristina Kroitor, in the semifinal.

In doubles quarterfinal, Anna Kubareva paired with Russia’s Ekaterina Khayrutdinova triumphed over the Russian duo Kristina Kroitor / Ekaterina Yashina with a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win. Today, they will compete against the Belarusian duo Daria Khomutianskaya / Uladzislava Zverava for a place in the final.

The tournament in Kazakhstan’s capital will be over on 17 August.
