MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) – The winners of the first day of the International Minsk Triathlon event, which brought together participants from 13 countries, were determined on 25 July, BelTA has learned.
On the first day, competitions were held in four running events and three swimming distances. The races took place near the Lebyazhy waterpark, while the swims were held in the Drozdy reservoir. Two victories were claimed by Alina Sinevich, who became the European youth aquathlon champion just a week ago. Today, the 22-year-old Belarusian won the 3-kilometer LadyRun race and later triumphed in the women’s 750-meter swim.






Additionally, in the LadyRun race, Marina Arzamasova, the 2015 world champion in the 800-meter run, finished 12th. In the men’s 10-km race, gold went to Nikita Chakhovsky, the newly crowned Belarusian champion at this distance. Saturday also featured 5-km and 0.5-km (children’s) races, as well as 3-km and 5-km swims. In total, around 1,500 sports enthusiasts took part in Saturday’s events of the International Minsk Triathlon.
On 26 July, the capital will host triathlon competitions in the classic format (swimming + cycling + running). At 05:00, participants of the full Ironman distance will start, covering a total of 226 kilometers. Tomorrow, medalists will also be determined in the sprint (25.75 km), Olympic (56.5 km), and half-Ironman (113 km) distances. Cycling routes are laid out along Pobediteley Avenue.
