MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – As many as 351 cases of the coronavirus infection have been registered in Belarus, BelTA learned from Inna Karaban, Deputy Head of the Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Disease Prevention Department of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry, on 3 April.

One case has been registered in Brest Oblast, two in Mogilev Oblast, 89 in Vitebsk Oblast, 13 in Gomel Oblast, and six in Grodno Oblast. As many as 190 cases have been detected in Minsk and 50 in Minsk Oblast, Inna Karaban said.

In her words, the coronavirus infection is primarily found in patients aged 25-64. About 50% of the total number of registered cases belong to this age group.

“Our situation develops predictably and incrementally. All the measures we’ve been taking from the very start to prevent the infection from entering the country and then from spreading on a mass scale have proven their effectiveness,” the Healthcare Ministry representative said.
