Valentin Yelizaryev’s new production of Spartacus premieres at Belarus’ Bolshoi theater

The national academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater is celebrating the 70th birthday of the USSR and Belarus’ People’s Artist Valentin Yelizaryev. On 30 October, the day of his birthday, the outstanding choreographer was still giving last touches to his new work. Almost 40 years after the premiere, Valentin Yelizaryev was getting ready to present a new version of his legendary ballet Spartacus. The last rehearsal was held on the day of the premiere and was watched by the Spartacus previous performers.

In the evening on 31 October the Bolshoi theater enjoyed a full house. The new Spartacus has already been recognized the biggest hit of the 85th season at the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus. Leaving the plot based on Aram Khachaturian's music intact, Valentin Yelizaryev offered a lot of fresh and intriguing additions to his new work.
