Large-scale arrangements of tractors, "ballet on wheels", a test-drive rally… MTZ, the world-famous tractor manufacturer from Belarus, never fails to amaze us with new projects.

MTZ launched a factory tourism program in February 2017. The plant has already hosted over 1,500 tourists. On 5 July it unveiled another project. Now tourists can not only explore the plant's facilities, see the assembly process and take a sit behind the wheel. Now they can also take part in the production of the legendary tractors.

The project started with an excursion for an international group comprising three Belarusians, a Swiss, and an American. The team had a guided walking tour of the plant and explored the instructions and manufacturing guides to get ready for the final round: to assemble MTZ’s classic tractor BELARUS-82.1.

The guests performed five operations under the supervision of MTZ's professionals, from installing some tractor brackets to assembling the steering and testing its performance. Then the tourists received another proof of their work: certificates with the tractor’s serial number and the country of destination on them.

Such interactive manufacturing is a new thing for Belarus. There are few companies in the world that give tourists access to their production lines. Such a tour to MTZ is open to anyone. You just need to book a spot on the group in advance. MTZ’s customers should not worry about the quality of the equipment assembled by tourists: every vehicle will be double-checked by the specialists.
