Biathlon Legend Race in Raubichi

On 12 September the Raubichi National Winter Olympic Center played host to its first festival initiated and inspired by the star of the world and Belarusian biathlon – three-time Olympic champion, holder of the Big Crystal Globe Darya Domracheva. At her invitation the Legend Race in Belarus was visited by 20 best athletes of the past years – many-time world and Olympic champions.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Darya Domracheva said:

"Let today go down in history as the birth day of the Legend Race, as the day that will breathe a new life into the sports center Raubichi. Great athletes that have come to Raubichi from different corners of the globe are part of the world biathlon history. These are the people who have deserved the right to have such a day in the year when they can feel the atmosphere of the biathlon family once again…"

The first festival, Legend Race – Biathlon Stars for Peace, which may become an annual preseason event in Raubichi, was a truly grandiose event. Three intriguing races, an autograph signing sessions with biathlon legends, concerts and sport events for fans, tours around the facilities of the recently modernized biathlon stadium made the atmosphere of the festival unforgettable.
