Belarus’ longest suspension bridge across the Neman River in the town of Mosty reopened after renovations on 2 May in the run-up to the 80th anniversary of Great Victory. The bridge in Mosty is the only of its kind in the country. The opening ceremony featured a light show and a display of fireworks into the night sky above the Neman. Illuminated kayaks floated down the river. The first to walk across the illuminated bridge were representatives of the regional and district administrations, construction workers and residents of Mosty. The pedestrian surface is made of solid decking with glass inserts. The bridge is about 193 meters long and is illuminated by about 450 lamps.
