Lukashenko talks to Trump over phone

MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the United States of America Donald Trump had a conversation over the phone on 15 August, BelTA has learned.

The leaders of the two countries discussed matters on the bilateral agenda, regional affairs, and the situation in hot spots, including Ukraine.

An agreement was reached to continue contacts. The Belarus president invited Donald Trump and his family to visit Minsk. The invitation was accepted.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of the United States of America Donald Trump are expected to meet in Anchorage, State of Alaska, USA on 15 August. The meeting is supposed to begin at 11:00 local time (22:00 Minsk time). According to mass media reports, the U.S. leader has already left the Andrews air base outside Washington to fly to Anchorage. Meanwhile, the Russian head of state was in the city of Magadan where he was visiting an enterprise and hosting a conference.
