MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko attended a ceremony to launch the Minsk City Technical Creativity Center for Children and Youth in the Belarusian capital on 17 October, BelTA has learned.
The opening ceremony featured a special device – a mechatronic system. This symbolic mechanism opened the doors for everyone eager to learn about the world of technologies and innovations. The head of state was joined by two students of the center in activating the device. After the lever was pressed, all the gears were set in motion. A “robot arm” with another gear emerged from the mechanism. It was presented to the head of state as a memento of the symbolic moment.
The Minsk City Technical Creativity Center for Children and Youth was established on the site of the former Vostochny bus terminal. The building was reconstructed and outfitted with the necessary equipment. The center occupies a total area of over 7,200 square meters.
The center has 18 educational labs in various areas of innovative technical creativity. These include aircraft and rocket modeling, automobile and motorcycle engineering, ship modeling, robotics, design and operation of unmanned aerial vehicles, architecture and industrial design, programming, mechatronics, and energy. Specialized outdoor grounds are located on the territory adjacent to the center.
