ST. PETERSBURG, 26 December (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in St. Petersburg, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation on 24 December. Then the Belarusian head of state warmly congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart on his birthday. The presidents discussed the development of bilateral relations, the situation in the region and the joint work within the framework of multilateral organizations.
The meeting in St Petersburg was a follow-up to what was discussed in the telephone conversation. The agenda included the current issues of bilateral relations.
Ilham Aliyev invited the Belarusian leader to visit Azerbajan.
