MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Belarus Einars Semanis paid a working visit to the office of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation, BelTA learned from the website of the association.
The ambassador met with the leadership of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation to discuss the preparations for the 2021 IIHF World Championship. The right to co-host the event was granted to Belarus and Latvia at the IIHF Annual Congress in May 2017. The parties also talked over visa issues and cross-border movement by fans and other client groups of the championship.
The 2021 IIHF World Championship will be held in Minsk and Riga on 7-23 May. The semifinals and medal games will take place in the Belarusian capital.
