MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) - The National Bank of Belarus and the Bank of Latvia are considering issuing commemorative coins dedicated to the 2021 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship which will be held in Minsk and Riga. Relevant information is posted on the official website of the National Bank, BelTA has learned.
Topical issues of bilateral cooperation between the Belarusian National Bank and the Bank of Latvia were discussed during a working meeting between executives and experts of the central banks of the two countries. The Belarusian delegation led by Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Pavel Kallaur visited Riga on the invitation of Governor of the Bank of Latvia Ilmars Rimsevics.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of development of the national economies of the two countries, the monetary policies and the functioning of the banking systems, and also the current trends in digital banking.
The main areas of cooperation between the Belarusian National Bank and the Bank of Latvia are set forth in the memorandum of cooperation signed by the central banks of the two countries in July 2016. The document envisages a regular exchange of the information on the monetary policy, the financial systems of the two countries, the organization of seminars, study visits and expert visits to share experiences and also consultations on topical issues of the central banks of Belarus and Latvia.
