Humanitarian project in Glubokoye District offered for co-financing

Project name: Moving for Life! (creating and equipping a walking trail for comprehensive psychosomatic rehabilitation with an indoor exercise class for conducting sports events in the village of Petrunovo, Vitebsk Oblast).

Implementation period: Within one year since the launch of the project
 
Applicant:  State institution “Glubokoye Psychoneurological Care Home for the Elderly and Disabled”.

Project objectives:

  • Improving and maintaining mental wellbeing and physical health;
  • Restoring and compensating impaired or lost body functions;
  • Rehabilitating and integrating the care home patients.

Project goals:

  • Setting up the necessary infrastructure (a craft therapy studio, an indoor exercise class with a walking trail for providing training and rehabilitation for the elderly and disabled). 
  • Drafting training and rehabilitation programs to teach the elderly and disabled healthy lifestyle practices and crafts; sharing expertise and knowledge with partners;
  • Holding various promo events in order to demonstrate the benefits of the project for the target group.

Target group: The elderly and disabled living in the Glubokoye Psychoneurological Care Home for the Elderly and Disabled.

Brief description of the project: setting up a craft therapy studio by renovating an old wooden building; setting up and equipping the walking trail for comprehensive psychosomatic rehabilitation and the indoor exercise class for holding sports events, traditional games and folk rites; holding seminars, training sessions and master classes, health festivals; participation in the annual Cherry Festival in the town of Glubokoye, Vitebsk Oblast.

Total project funding (USD): 204 000

  • Donor funds: 200, 000
  • Co-financing: 4 000
