Results of Belarus president election’s exit poll summed up

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – Results of the exit poll held as part of the Belarus president election have been summed up. The figures were released by the First News TV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to the exit poll, 1.8% of those polled voted for Oleg Gaidukevich, 1.6% for Anna Kanopatskaya, 87.6% for Aleksandr Lukashenko, 2.7% for Sergei Syrankov, 1.2% for Aleksandr Khizhnyak, and 5.1% for none of the above.

People exiting 320 polling stations were polled. About 1,000 interviewers polled voters since the time the polling stations opened (at 8:00) and till they closed. The poll was anonymous. Those surveyed were asked who they voted for.

A total of 11,948 people were polled.

Chairman of the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organizations Pavel Alekso noted that the sample is representative. “Our organizations conducted similar studies in 2010, in 2015, and in 2020. This year was not an exception. Just like many TV viewers we were interested in how the voters cast their votes,” Pavel Alekso said.

People were polled all over the country – both in large cities and small populated localities. The chairman of the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organizations described the exit poll as an excellent way to get feedback. The people were eager to talk to the interviewers. They openly named the candidates they had voted for.

The interstate television and radio company Mir is the customer of the exit poll during the current election campaign.
