Observer from Spain: Europe has a lot to learn from Belarus

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) - Belarusians have a lot to teach European countries, independent observer, former member of Spain's Congress of Deputies Angeles Maestro said in an interview with BelTA.

The observer admitted that she was very impressed by the living standards in Belarus. "Having visited the polling stations, I can say that people make informed choices. They remember the lessons of the history and do not want to repeat those terrible events. I believe that Belarusians have a lot to teach European countries," Angeles Maestro said.

"I think that we should be ready for changes in social life. Recently, the economic situation in Spain has been quite difficult, also because of the sanctions policy that the EU is pursuing. Even if the situation in the country seems calm and there are no strikes, the tension in society continues to grow, as in most EU countries. All of Europe's aspirations are doomed because it is facing an economic crisis. It is losing hope for the future," she stated.
