MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) - The world's largest media outlets are planning to cover the election in Belarus. Some 812 journalists have been accredited with the CEC Information Center, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry of Belarus.

 “The Information Ministry together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has completed the processing of applications for accreditation to work in the CEC Information Center. A total of 481 representatives of 24 Belarusian media and 331 journalists from 70 foreign media have been granted access to the Information Center in the Palace of the Republic. Foreign media will be represented by the largest media from 23 countries of Asia, Europe, Latin and North America, the Middle East,” noted in the department.

 Traditionally, high interest is shown by Russian media. Accreditation applications have been also submitted by the world's major media outlets: BBC, Reuters (UK), Al Jazeera (Qatar), China Media Group (CCTV and CGTN), TASS, VGTRK (Russia), CNN, Associated Press (USA), AFP (France) and major regional media outlets - TeleSUR (Venezuela), ZDF, ARD (Germany), EFE (Spain), France Télévisions (France).

The CEC Information Center in the Palace of the Republic will open on 24 January. On 25-27 January it will host press conferences and briefings of the officials of the Central Election Commission of Belarus and international observation missions.
