Voter turnout in Belarus president election at 87.2%

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) - According to the latest data, the turnout in the Belarus president election was 87.2%, chairperson of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina told reporters, BelTA has learned.

6,102,896 citizens took part in the election, which makes up 87.2% of the voters included in the electoral register. Five years ago, the turnout was higher - 90.6%,” the Central Election Commission head said.

According to preliminary data, Alexander Lukashenko gained 83.49% of the vote in the Belarus president election. 6.4% of voters voted against all candidates. Tatiana Korotkevich received 4.42% of the vote, Sergei Gaidukevich - 3.32%, and Nikolai Ulakhovich - 1.67%.

"Some minor changes in the final results are possible because we have not yet received the additional information on the vote abroad," Lidia Yermoshina explained.
