Turkmenistan interested in closer ties with Belarus

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Alexander Lukashenko has received congratulations on the re-election as Belarus’ President from Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro, and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

In particular, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s interest in the development and enhancement of friendly relations between Belarus and Turkmenistan and the peoples of the two countries.

Mahmoud Abbas said that the relations with Belarus will remain a priority for Palestine. “We will do our best to develop the new phase of relations and penetrate new areas of mutual interest for the benefit of the two nations and countries,” the message of greetings reads.
